Don’t Be A Reprobate!
2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
I love the way Paul speaks, don’t be a reprobate! Seek the Lord from the King James Bible. You will find that the Salvation from the Bible is to whosoever will read and live by what the scripture tells the reader. You can say that you are already saved but if you don’t have a steady diet of the Word of God, you could be a reprobate.
For instance, look at the Parable of the Ten Virgins in Matthew 25:1-13. There were those five, out of the ten, that was not saved by Jesus Christ, but they played a good game. Many shall come to Jesus and say look at all the wonderful works we have done, Matthew 7:22-23. Or, the Parable of the Sower of the seeds, Matthew 13:1-23, Mark 4:1-20, and Luke 8:4-15. The Sower throws seed everywhere, like all saved believers in Jesus Christ should witness because that is our responsibility. The Sower threw some seed all over and the birds came to pluck it up. That is just like Satan devouring the blessed hope before the person you are witnessing to has a chance to really even tell Christ what a mess there in. Or, maybe they take the Gospel from you, bowed their head, and prayed that Christ would come into their heart. They look saved by the blood of Christ but only time could tell. After you leave they throw the tracks away and tell their friends that are in the house with them that they just did it to get you off their porch. That is like the seed that was thrown on the stony ground. You might have a person who by all means received the word of God, appears to be saved, starts coming to church, and before the second time, they cannot be found. They are like the seed that fell among thorns & thistle, some get overwhelmed with the things of this life. Meanwhile, they don’t have that blessed hope from God, don’t read the word of God to give them that hope, and things in their life just wash the memory away. But, some seed fell on good ground, and some seed will repay, some thirty, sixty, and one hundred fold.
If you look at 1 Corinthians 3:1-17, it says the Christian life is to be like, nothing but planting & watering. That is all I want my life to be because I want to have that blessed hope that someone asks me about and I then can point them to Jesus. Jesus can save, I can’t. But, the foundation that you lay is very, very important. The foundations that you lay will bring gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or stubble. I only want the first three because I don’t want to be saved by fire.
While living in Christ will, by following the Holy Ghost and doing what he tells me instead of the other way around, you will find it is much easier to face the world daily. Luke 22:42 is the best scripture to see how Christ wasn’t sent to do whatever he wanted. Therefore, we should do God’s will, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Because if you are saved and bought with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, you should do what the Holy Ghost tells you to do.
But, the first thing you are to do, if you want to hear the Holy Ghost is read, read, read, the scriptures daily. Seek the Lord, with prayer and supplication and then you will hear him speak.
I urge you, saved or lost, to find the blessed hope from the word of God before it is too late.
