Just going along in life and searching for the will of God…

I Beg You, Don’t Live Like the Ostrich

I Beg You, Don’t Live Like the Ostrich

Let me make this abundantly clear, I am not concerned with what this world may put me through, because I want to always be in God’s Will. That is why I try and post everything on this blog from the reading of scripture so, I can get feedback from fellow believers who, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”, Ephesians 2:8. That is what the salvation of the Lord is about. Submitting to God, telling him you are a wicked sinner that needs repentance, that can’t do anything without Jesus Christ, and that has asked Jesus into your heart. If you didn’t get him to confirm he is in your heart, cry out to him until he does! That brings me to this…

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. – 2 Timothy 2:15

You can go to hospitals or anywhere else besides your local church and you will find people that are hurting or, that have something in their past that haunts them or, someone that has not even heard the Word of God at any time. Jesus Christ just looked for people who were some of the most unfortunate ones. I praise God that he was able to set up a path in my life, to where I could serve him.

Because, I can relate to those that are in intensive care, on the road to recovery, or have to deal with a physical and or mental disability. Because I have to deal with just those type of things each day of my life. I have been blessed, unlike anyone else, because I have lived just that type of life now for almost thirty years. It is a blessing to see different patients, that have lost a lot of their ability to move around, at one of the lowest points in their lives, and I tell them about the One who got me through everything.

Seeing them come to know Christ is one of the biggest blessings that has ever happened in my life. I don’t recommend the hospital for everyone, but I do recommend that everyone finds something outside the local church to do. Because that is what the Lord Jesus Christ did when he was in this world. In Luke 7:20-23, John the Baptist didn’t believe it was the Christ but soon he did.

Don’t Live Like This Ostrich…

That brings me to this point… Local church members (not the pastor or assistant pastor or song leader or anyone else that already has something to do in the church) need to get occupied with the things of God. Read the Word of God each day. Pray to God that he will give you a burden, I know God will do that without any problems, you just need to ask him. You need to see God as the authority and not any man. I hope you know how if you are a born-again believer? Did the disciples or Jesus have to stay in the local church to do God’s will? Break out of the church and start doing something for God outside the walls of the church. Notify your pastor by all means, but there is more to do for Jesus Christ outside of the church. If your pastor has a problem with you wanting to serve in the public and you have the Word from God Scripture, by all means, show it to him. Because by reading the Word of God, praying to God, and listing for the Holy Spirit you will find your message from the Lord.

Don’t Live Like This Ostrich…

I tell you, as I said in my last blog post, I love the way Paul writes! In Titus Chapter 1, Paul says that he is an apostle of Jesus Christ according to the faith of God’s elect. In this message, I want to go through and explain what Paul says about the faith of God’s elect.

  • Because without that peculiar type of faith, you will see yourself undone and in need of the saving hand of the Lord Jesus in your life.
  • Then how you are spoken to by faith through the Holy Ghost.
  • Finally, explain how to find the hand of faith from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:17, faith does come by hearing the Word of God and doing what the Word of God tells you to do. Reading the Word of God is an important thing for saved believers. Because while reading God’s Word, it will speak to you through the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost or Spirit will show you different things whether it be from his Word or life happenings. I know, if you are searching for something intently in the Word of God and you have read different passages of scripture from the Bible you can find what you are searching for through things that happen to you in this world as they remind you of different scripture that you may have read yesterday, last week, a month ago, last year or, maybe longer. So, we have no excuse for the little problems that we face today because if you look at Paul’s life, he had some big problems, problems that we can only dream of.

Let me say that I believe the Lord has everything figured out before man, in predestination. Let me also say that the Lord has not told me or any other saved individual anything he is going to do with any of the people that I speak too. I think God that he doesn’t use me or any other born-again believers to save anyone. I feel like I am like Paul or Apollos, just planting and watering, waiting on God to give the increase, 1 Corinthians 3:6, the whole chapter is good. So, I have no idea who will be saved and who will not. But, I also know if I am doing what the Lord (Through reading his Word, prayer & supplication, and listening for the Holy Ghost) tells me, everything will work out, “…to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son…” Romans 8:28-29.

That brings me to this point. You may ask, how do you know that God has everything already planned out? I feel that my life’s story is just a testimony to God’s peculiar way of showing us faith. I also believe the Word of God, look for yourself…

1 Samuel 3:1-10

When Hannah had Samuel, she knew that he was from God and due to the vow she had made, he was going to spend the earlier part of his life with Eli. Hannah wanted to have her son where he would…

  • Samuel Wanted to Learn About God.
  • Samuel Needed to Find God.
  • Samuel Learned to Do the Will of God Throughout His Life
  • Samuel Learned that He had Eternal Life a Bit Later

If Samuel would have been one who just said that he would learn about God on his own time, I think he would be like one of the Ostriches that are in the church today. Not reading your Bible, not praying to God, not listing for the Holy Spirit to open up your eyes, and not seeking a way to serve the Lord as Samuel did throughout his life.

Maybe that wasn’t a lifelike story? I mean, Samuel was a man of God who really loved the Lord. I’ll say it again, not reading your Bible, not praying to God, not listing for the Holy Spirit to open up your eyes, and not seeking a way to serve the Lord, maybe you will find out that you aren’t even saved, you are living as a counterfeit Christian.

Counterfeits should really read 2 Peter 2, really pay attention to verses 19-22. You have lied to yourself so long and you have made up a story that you can not cover with anything. When you hear someone say that they didn’t find God, God found them. Or, they didn’t give themselves to the Lord, the Lord opened their eyes. If you read the book of Proverbs, the reverence of the Lord or, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. If you didn’t want to act like a fool and want to receive wisdom from God, you can. You have to come to the end of yourself and find out that you can’t do anything for God to save yourself. The only thing you must do is die to the flesh and make Jesus Christ the Master of your life!

So, I will take a look at Proverbs. If you had parents or grandparents who are believers in the Bible, I can just think that they read it to you a time or two. If they did, you might be able to remember this…

Proverbs 2:1-7

If you read Proverbs and look at it as the spiritual guideline that a saved believer should follow, I know that the Lord will open your eyes.

  1. My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
  2. So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
  3. Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
  4. If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
  5. Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
  6. For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
  7. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

Why do you think that the Lord used children as examples so often, because they aren’t hampered and weighed down with that wicked thing called SIN! Sin can bind you with chains, but the Lord Jesus Christ can break those chains. If you are in the position that Paul describes in Titus 1:13-16. You may profess to know the Lord but Satan knows him also? The first thing you must do to be saved is, submit to the Lord’s authority.

As a small child, you didn’t always know which path your parent was making you go down, that is the same with following the Will of God. If you are saved by the Blood of Jesus Christ & study the Word of God, the Holy Ghost may tell you to do things that are strange, but they are not sins the Lord tells you to do. That is a test from God.

Because God is just, and God Loves you, but he hates your sins. Look here, John 3:5-7John 3:15-17, & Romans 5:8-11. All have sinned, Revelation 21:8Ecclesiastes 12:14Romans 3:23, & Romans 3:10. God’s remedy for sin, Romans 6:23John 1:12, & 1 Corinthians 15:3-4. All may be saved, Revelation 3:20, & Romans 10:13.

Break out of your shell and become a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ!
